Linear TextThroughout history Romans and Egyptians and other nations around the world send their message to inform their town or village by oral speaking. The Romans would have someone read the news to the Roman citizens called a towns crier, who would go to a public place and read the news. When Romans and Egyptians wanted to get in contact with each other it couldn't have been threw speaking because they were divided by the Mediterrian Sea. The form of sending a message to and from Egypt would be written on scrolls and a legion would take it personally to the Egyptian Empire. In the city of Alexander concord by Rome their library was hand written by many disciples. Their technology was scrolls and a feather with ink. In Today's Technology has adapted to something much more complex. In simple terms what we have today to communicate with our friends and family is faster and it's in a cyber world. We have what is known as a man made object called a computer and internet. Yes, we used paper and ink to write , but Today's we send our messages around the world via internet what is also known as an email. To write and send messages is more flexible. I can erase what I wrote and change it, instead of ink if I made an incorrect spelling then it was hard to read or understand. Text today defines with content and form I can copy and paste text and we can attach a video or a photo. Text is said to be linear but often to be Unlinear. I believe that the digital world is changing the way humans communicate and I believe our technology is adapting faster and taking control of today's society. I believe people are stuck in the matrix. Simple example how many teenage kids are on the cell phone that have internet service and is always communicating my text and twitter and updating their facebook. When out in the city how many people are on the phone? The number is too large to even count. I haven't seen a pay phone in while. Probably not because humans are in a constant wheel of consumption and don't take time to actually see life for what it is. I recently spoke to my grandmother about how technology has change and how she adapts to it. She said "I still can't figure out how to use a cell phone" I laugh because I can understand how she feels that the year 2011 has change from the 80's so much that the world is like flying cars. I believe that schools has became more cyber. To rethink the way schools used to be all you had to really do was show up to class and write, read and participate, now in many states I can have college courses online I can go to school on my computer at home, How INSANE is that? Schools adapt using computers, it has made teachers lives better because now they can change a kids grade with out breaking their heads on paper they can do it within a second. Honestly think about it as a nation our system of computers and internet is so unique that all the music I can possibly listen to is online. Every book I read and books I currently want to read is online. I can pay my bills online. WOW they way he have rethink today's world with technology to send a text or message indicates that we are attach to the robot, we sleep with our cell phones we wake up with our cell phones we stay up all night on the computer and honestly half the things we do online is nothing and we just waist time and energy. The Internet has changed the way we live our lives. What happens if the hard drive doesn't work and all the books and music and news and movies and video games no longer exist and the internet is wiped out? I don't have cd's anymore because I downloaded them. I have books because I never found the time to pick one up. It would be a twilight zone if there was no internet and the world lost its technology and went back to a modern world when things were hand written and listened to a radio for news, and going to friends house to communicate. It would be a world of confusion like babel. Individuals have to rethink they way they use the computer. I personally don't want to sleep with a cell phone because those radio active waves are going to my brain while I sleep. I minimize my time on the computer because it wears me out.
